Healthy snack check in kindergarten

Students in Mrs. Story's Kindergarten class check in at snack time to see what kind of snacks are in their packs.

Stickers are used to show if they have healthy fruits and vegetables or sugary snacks.

Students share their snacks and add to the chart

RAH RAH RADISHES!!

First grade students read the book Rah Rah Radishes by April Pulley Sayre in the library and they had a little something to say about it.

The library at FES has a great selection of healthy books  -be sure to check one out soon!

**Special thanks to Mrs. Potter and Mrs. Sparks in the library for filming, editing, and producing the video

Autism Awareness

This is the bulletin board in the A wing featuring some of  the words associated with Autism. As the month goes on words will be highlighted and explained.

There is also a dynamic art display in the main lobby showcasing the complexity of Autism

The staff and students also helped to raise awareness by wearing Blue on April 2nd. Staff and students generously donated $1 to participate. This project raised $272 (and counting) that will go towards the Autism society of Maine.

For more information on Autism Spectrum Disorders:

CDC estimates that 1 in 88 children have been identified with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The full article can be found on the CDC website.

We would also like to thank Ace Hardware for donating the spray paint, and Lowe's for donating the tubes to create the tree.
